DESIGNS

Exodus 3:14

God said to Moses, “I am who I am.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I am has sent me to you.’”

"I AM" is the answer to the ultimate philosophical question, "Why is there something rather than nothing?" All contingent reality finds its source in the one necessary being, the great "I AM."

For Moses (a fearful fugitive) and Israel (a nation of slaves), this name was a promise. The eternal, unchanging, all-powerful God was committing His very nature to their cause. He would be for them what He has always been: powerful, faithful, and saving.

1 Samuel 17:45

"You come to me with a sword, a spear, and a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied."

It's Not About Your Tools, It's About God.

Goliath's Power: Came from his own size, strength, and military equipment (sword, spear, javelin). These are external and human-made.

David's Power: Came from the authority and reputation of the God he served. This is spiritualand God-given.

"The Name" Means His Authority and Character.
In that culture, a person's "name" represented their entire character and authority. To come in someone's name was to come with their full backing and power.

So, David wasn't just saying a magic word. He was saying, "I am fighting with the full power and authority of the God of the universe behind me."

"Lord of Hosts" Means He's the Top Commander.

"The Lord of hosts" means "The God of the armies."

This doesn't just mean Israel's army. It means the armies of angels and all of heaven. David was reminding everyone that the real battle wasn't between a boy and a giant, but between the living God and a defiant enemy.

Goliath's Approach: "I rely on what I can do and what I have."

David's Approach: "I rely on who God is and what He can do."

David was confident not because he was a great fighter, but because he had a great God. He traded the world's weapons (spear, sword) for a heavenly one (God's authority). His victory teaches us that when we face our own "giants," our greatest weapon is to trust in the power and character of God.

Zechariah 4:6

Then he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:

Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.

The prophet Zechariah was giving God's message to the people who were trying to rebuild Jerusalem, and they felt weak, discouraged, and overwhelmed. God gave him this message to explain how true success happens.

"This is the word of the Lord... 'Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the Lord of hosts." (Zechariah 4:6)

  1. "Not by might..." This is about collective strength.

    • Think: Army size, political influence, big budgets, or human numbers. God says, "This won't be accomplished by the world's idea of force."

  2. "...nor by power..." This is about individual strength.

    • Think: Your own talent, willpower, intelligence, or hard work alone. God says, "This also won't be accomplished just by you trying harder."

  3. "...but by my Spirit." This is about God's strength.

    • The "Spirit" is God's active, empowering presence in the world. It's His power, His wisdom, and His life at work. God says, "This will only be accomplished by My energy and My presence doing what you cannot."

The people were trying to rebuild God's temple, but the task seemed impossible with their limited resources. They were looking at the problem and feeling small. God's message redefined the source of their success.

Why is this a big deal for us?

This verse flips our entire understanding of how to tackle big challenges.

  • The World's Formula: MIGHT + POWER = SUCCESS
(More resources + more effort = victory)

  • God's Formula: HUMAN WEAKNESS + GOD'S SPIRIT = MIRACLE
(Our trust + His power = a victory that clearly points to Him)

When you face a task that feels too big for you, whether it's fixing a relationship, overcoming a fear, or doing something great for God, remember this: the key isn't to rely on your own strength or resources. The key is to rely on God's Spirit. True and lasting success comes from His power working through your faithful obedience.

Key Benefits:

  • Breathable & Natural: Allows air to circulate, keeping you cool and comfortable throughout the day. Perfect for warmer climates or those who prefer a natural fiber against their skin.

  • Incredibly Soft: Known for its plush, comfortable hand-feel. It’s gentle and non-irritating, offering a broken-in comfort from the first wear.

  • Sustainable & Biodegradable: As a natural fiber, cotton is a renewable resource and is biodegradable, making it a more eco-conscious choice.

Polyester & Lycra Blend

Key Benefits:

  • Flexiblity: The Lycra (spandex) provides exceptional stretch, allowing for greater freedom of movement and a contouring fit that flatters your shape without feeling restrictive.

  • Durable & Long-Lasting: Polyester fibers are incredibly strong, making the shirt highly resistant to shrinking, stretching out, and pilling. It holds its color and shape wash after wash.

  • Wrinkle & Fade Resistant: This blend is low-maintenance; it emerges from the dryer with fewer wrinkles and resists fading, so your shirt looks crisp and vibrant with minimal effort.

At Sent, we believe the right fabric is the foundation of a great shirt. That's why we offer two options, each with unique benefits. Whether you prioritise the classic, natural feel of cotton or the modern, performance-driven fit of a polyester blend, we have you covered.
